Mayor Vows to Bring Wayne Killers to Justice
"The perpetrators of this heinous crime will be captured and punished to the greatest extent."
Speaking to the press on the steps of City Hall, Mayor Aubrey James vowed to find, capture, and prosecute the Wayne killer “in the swiftest action this city has ever seen.”"This is our number-one priority now," said Police Commissioner Patrick Brady. However, not everyone is happy about the GCPD’s shift in focus. Local community groups complain that police are spending too many resources on the hunt for the Wayne killers. “Where are the beat cops? Where are the street units?” asked Ashley Murray, head of the nonprofit organization Homeless Outreach Movement. “Since the Wayne tragedy, we’re not seeing much of them. Every petty criminal from the East End to Burnley is having a field day. I guess the people who live there don’t matter.” In a separate statement, Commissioner Brady assures the public that the hunt for the Wayne killer will not distract his officers from “their regular business of keeping Gotham safe for locals and visitors.”

Waynes Shot Dead in Alley
City mourns the loss of beloved philanthropists.
In a dark Theater District alley, the lives of Thomas Wayne and his wife, Martha, came to an end. After attending a performance of a popular musical, the couple and their young son took a shortcut through an alley to catch a cab when a masked robber held them at gunpoint. Despite their cooperation, the gunman fired at Martha and Thomas, killing them both, but leaving their son alive to witness the bloody scene. At 11:13pm last night, 12-year-old Bruce Wayne’s screams of terror caught the attention of concerned citizens. “By the time I got there, he had calmed down,” recounted Katherine Seo, a homeless woman who saw the gruesome spectacle. “He was a lot more composed than I would have been, and trust me, I’ve seen a lot of stuff go down out here.”Police arrived moments after the shootings and cordoned off the alley. “We are doing everything in our power to track down our suspect and bring this criminal to justice,” Police Commissioner Patrick Brady told the press as forensics specialists covered every square inch of alley space. “If anyone has seen anything or knows someone who did, please contact your local police station immediately.”As of press time this morning, no witnesses had come forward.
